I have PTSD around taking myself and my child to the Emergency Room. I have lost count of how many times I have gone for all of my chronic illnesses, pregnancy issues, accidents and then for my child’s mental health struggles. I now have a visceral response when thinking about going to the ER, but of course, if you have to go, you have to go. Thankfully I have a great support in my husband Isaac who sits with me, helps to advocate for me when I can’t and keeps me entertained. When it was for my child, I provided that to them. I have become the perfect companion if you ever have to go to the ER.
My adage since I was a little girl, mothering everyone around me, always be preprepared. (Yes, I know it’s the Boy Scout Motto, but I was saying it long before I knew that.” Also, know, you will get it through it all. You are waaaayyyyy stronger than you know. How do I know this? because I use to think that, and now, 19 years after my first kiddo was born, and being diagnosed with a chronic illness, 7 surgeries and literally keeping my child alive for 10 years. When all this first started, I kept thinking that there was no way I could keep going, each time something happened, like this week for me, I just kept taking each step forward. I needed to be there for my family, and there was just too much life left to live. YOU. CAN. DO. IT. You’ll see.
So here are some articles I gathered for you, I’m way to tired now to write any more, so I’m not going to
